FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
JACKSONVILLE, FL – Sept 22, 2006 – Jacksonville based, BioPointe, a biotechnology human capital consulting firm, celebrated the grand opening of its new offices in the BioPointe Building last evening in Mandarin. Over one hundred people attended to participate in the celebration. State Representative Dick Kravitz spoke on behalf of his district in welcoming BioPointe to the Mandarin business community and Jacksonville City Council President, Michael Corrigan presided as the official ribbon cutter.
Ron Frechette, President and CEO of BioPointe began the ceremony with a prayer of thanks and an inspirational story about a vision he says was inspired by his daughter. Frechette started his company in 2000 out of his home in Jacksonville. In 2001, after working literally out of his bedroom for a year, Frechette built an office in his garage for a change of scenery. “To me, that was like moving into a new office suite. I was set for the rest of my working career”, touted Frechette.
About eighteen months later, his eight year old daughter Hannah Nicole, came home from school one day with a hand drawn, crayon colored picture of a large office building with her rendition of the company logo on top. “She placed this picture on my desk while I was on the phone and she said, “I made this for you today daddy”. When I realized what she had drawn, it gave me goose bumps, inspiration and a whole new vision all in an instant. Up until that point, I was perfectly content making a comfortable living and working out of my garage in flip flops and shorts.” Frechette framed his daughter’s picture and hung it in his office to stay focused on the vision his daughter had created for him.
Within a year, Ron had moved out of the garage office and into a new commercial office complex where he leased a small office. As BioPointe continued to expand and hire additional employees, Ron learned that the developer of the complex planned to build two-story office buildings and would be parceling them to sell as office condominiums. He requested the rights to have his company logo on one of the buildings, and in exchange he would commit to purchase a sizable block of office space. The developer agreed and within four years, at last the vision became reality.
In his closing remarks, Ron stood emotionally before those gathered with the picture he had framed held high above his head. He gazed into his now teenage daughter’s eyes and said, “Here is your building honey, daddy got it done!”
